Creating a comprehensive list of assets and their locations is a critical step in preparing a last will and testament. This list serves as a clear inventory for executors and beneficiaries, ensuring that all possessions are accounted for and distributed according to your wishes.
Tangible Assets: These include physical items such as real estate, vehicles, jewelry, art, and collectibles. Details like addresses, registration documents, and appraisals should be noted.
Financial Assets: Bank accounts, investment portfolios, retirement accounts, and insurance policies fall under this category. Include account numbers, institution names, and contact information.
Digital Assets: Online accounts, cryptocurrencies, and cloud storage often hold significant value. Provide login credentials and recovery information.
Business Interests: Ownership stakes in businesses or partnerships require proper documentation, including shareholder agreements or contracts.
Debts and Liabilities: Include mortgages, loans, or credit card balances to ensure that outstanding obligations are addressed.
Executors are the people who will administer your estate on death. Trustees are the people who will manage any assets which are held within a trust created through your Will. This section assumes your executors and trustees will be the same people - if they are not the same, please detail this as a special instruction at the end of this form. Where beneficiaries are minors, we advise that a trust is created to provide for that gift until the beneficiary attains the age of majority or at a specified age over the age of majority.
YOU MUST APPOINT A MINIMUM OF TWO (2) EXECUTORS (use the Add Item at the bottom to add 2nd Executor)
